Blogs are fun

Well, since I am not camping, I seem to spend a lot of time on the computer. . I have found a lot of interesting products and some amazing blogs out there that I would not have known about if it hadn't been for blogs. Camping withdrawals

Well, it has been several weeks since I went camping. I got my trusty fishing pole out of the camper a couple of days ago. I just wanted to let it know I hadn't forgotten it. Hopefully soon (a couple of weeks) we can go camping again. But it is hard to believe the season is almost over!

This week our town is hopping though because of Cheyenne Frontier Days. It is the largest outdoor rodeo and it keeps everyone in town busy and entertained. I think I will have to avoid the crowds this weekend and take my trusty fishing pole to the small lake in town. I need to renew my relationship with it. Maybe it will even feel sorry for me and let me catch a fish! I doubt it though, it is too hot for the fish to be biting much.

No camping for me - But found an awesome Crockpot giveaway

Well, I spent the last weekend NOT camping. That was a bummer and I won't be able to go for at least 3 more weeks! So I guess I thought I would do some cooking in the crockpot. It's too hot to turn the oven on and those leftovers are great to freeze for lunches.

Danged Raccoons!

Recently we went camping and my best buddy, Jo, and I were there early. We went fishing in a channel and caught some great catfish. Jo's 10 year old daughter caught a nice cat too. We spent the day in the sun and fought off the mosquitos. We also had to save our fishing poles as the bigger fish were trying to drag them in the lake.
Well, after a long day at the lake we decided to walk the little bit up to the campers. We left the fish on the stringer and decided to clean them the next day.
The next morning Jo and I went to the lakeside and our stringer and our prize fish were in the short trees by the lake! A raccoon had decided to have an evening feast at our expense. Needless to say, we won't do that again!. The picture on the left is of the fish BEFORE the raccoon decided to have a party.

Welcome to my blog. This will definitely be a living document and will grow as the season goes on. Most of the posts you will see will be about camping. Camping recipes, timesavers and general discussion will be included. Fishing will be a common topic. We are not expert fisherpeople by any means, but boy do we love to fish!
